STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

How and when do I pay for my stairlift?

We ask for a small non-refundable deposit of £150 upon ordering. This can be paid by BACS, cheque or a debit/credit cards. The balance is then payable once we’ve completed the installation and you have your lift in perfect working order.

How much does a stairlift cost?

The cost of a stairlift depends on the type of staircase you have, the length of the rail, and any additional features you choose.

Straight stairlifts are usually the most affordable because they use a standard rail.

Curved stairlifts are custom-made to fit the exact bends and turns of your staircase, so prices vary depending on the design.

The best way to get an accurate price is to book a free home survey, where we measure your stairs and provide a personalised quote with no obligation.

How long does stairlift installation take?

Straight stairlifts can often be installed within 24–48 hours after a survey.

Curved models take slightly longer because the rail is custom-built, but installation itself usually takes only a few hours.

Our engineers work quickly and cleanly, ensuring minimal disruption to your home.

Can you install outdoor stairlifts for garden steps?

Absolutely, We supply weatherproof outdoor stairlifts designed for garden steps, porches, and exterior access points.

These models include waterproof covers, rust-resistant components, and slip-resistant seating to provide safe access all year round.

How quickly can I get a free stairlift quote?

You can receive a quote the same day you enquire.

We offer fast home surveys where an engineer measures your staircase and provides a personalised price on the spot.

Do you supply reconditioned stairlifts?

Yes.

Our reconditioned stairlifts are fully refurbished, tested, and safety-checked by our engineers.

They come with guarantees and perform just like new units, offering a more affordable alternative without compromising quality.

What is the best stairlift for elderly users?

The best stairlift depends on your staircase and mobility needs. Straight and curved stairlifts both come with features ideal for elderly users, including:

👉🏻 Soft start/stop motors
👉🏻 Swivel seats for easy entry
👉🏻 Safety belts & sensors
👉🏻 Fold-away armrests and footrests

During your survey, we’ll recommend the safest and most comfortable model for your home.

What happens during a home survey?

A trained surveyor visits your home, measures your staircase, checks your mobility needs, and explains the best stairlift options.

There’s no obligation to buy—it’s simply an accurate, friendly assessment so you receive the right solution at the right price.

Will a stairlift damage my walls or bannisters?

No.

Stairlifts attach directly to the stair treads, not the wall.
This means your banister, plasterwork, and wall structure remain completely untouched.

The installation is clean, secure, and fully removable.

Can stairlifts go around corners?

Absolutely! Stairlifts can go around corners. Curved stairlifts are used when your staircase is constructed with one or more bends. Curved tracks can be used and fitted bespoke to your staircase, no matter how many corners there are!Curved stairlifts can be fitted new or reconditioned, and they’re available to both purchase and as a rental. Even more complex staircases can be tackled. For example, with spiral staircases we use a ‘freecurve’ staircase to effortlessly move along the constantly bending track. If you still have questions you can visit the page linked above or give us a call today to learn more.

What happens if I get a new carpet?

You don’t need to remove the stairlift.

Your installer can simply raise the rail slightly while the carpet is replaced and refit it once the work is done.

However, please speak to our team first before doing so.

Do you offer a warranty or servicing?

Yes. All new and reconditioned stairlifts come with a full warranty, covering parts, labour, and callouts.

We also offer ongoing servicing and maintenance to keep your stairlift running safely and smoothly.

Do stairlifts fold away to save space?

Yes. Most stairlift models come with foldable seats, arms, and footrests to leave plenty of space for other users on the staircase.

This is ideal for narrow homes or shared staircases.

How long will I have to wait for my stairlift?

We can usually install your stairlift within days, and often within 24 hours of ordering.
